Last updated: January 2026

These terms apply to this website and to every place booked on a route. By booking you accept them for everyone in your party.

Folklore by Firelight

Route descriptions, photographs and grading are ours; please do not copy them for commercial use. We keep the pages accurate, but ground conditions change faster than any page can.

Stone Gods, Old Tales

A place is confirmed only when we write back to say so. Payment terms and cancellation are set out on the booking page.

Statues That Speak

Every legend here comes from an old book or a surviving oral telling, retold with care for the rhythm of the original storytelling. We trace the myth through folklore archives, note variant versions across regions, and credit the tellers who kept it alive across generations. Where sources conflict, we say so, and leave the final interpretation to you, the reader.

Folklore from Winter's Hearth

Myths of the Forest

Oral tradition, regional dialects, or simply a storyteller's fading memory can shorten a legend, merge two versions together, or send the ending down an entirely different path than the one first recorded. The final shape any telling takes always rests with the narrator who carries it forward.

Old Book Tales

Myth and folklore carry centuries of retelling, and no archive can promise one single, perfect version of any legend. We work with diligence and respect for the original sources to present each story as faithfully as the record allows, but we cannot be responsible for the embellishments, omissions and regional variations that oral history naturally accumulates over time.
