Ask us for an evening of mythology and we'll hold your seat for seven days while you sort out trains, babysitters or whatever else needs arranging. Nothing is charged during that week, and the seat stays open for you alone until the hold expires.
A seat is confirmed the moment your deposit reaches us, which usually takes a day or two to clear. The remaining balance comes due thirty days before the storytelling evening, or immediately if you book inside that window — the fireside only has so many chairs for an evening of legend.
You can move to another evening once, free of charge, up to twenty-one days before your original date, as long as a seat is open in that season's calendar of folklore evenings. A second change depends on whether someone else takes your old seat.
Every storytelling evening needs a minimum number of listeners to go ahead. If we can't reach that number we'll tell you twenty-one days out, and you can choose another evening, another cycle of folklore, or a full refund.
Our evenings run long, held among ancient statues and shelves of old books, with simple benches around the fire and a shared supper afterward. Tell us about mobility needs, allergies or anything that affects how you sit through a telling — it changes how we seat and feed you, never whether you're welcome.
Your ticket covers the telling itself, a printed copy of that evening's tale drawn from our collection of old books and ancient art, a seat by the fire, and the cider passed round afterward. Travel to the hall, lodging, and any books you buy to take home are not included.
